Am I Eligible for Temporary Disability Benefits?

Temporary disability (“TD”) is monetary compensation paid bi-weekly to the injured worker if he or she qualifies.  Your compensation rate could be as high as $1,172.51[1] per week.

Eligibility for TD benefits may be based on work status orders issued by the worker’s treating doctor. If the worker is totally, temporarily disabled he or she may be entitled to TD benefits. If the worker is partially disabled and has work restrictions which cannot or will not be accommodated by the employer, the worker may be entitled to TD benefits.

Work status determinations are made by the treating physician. This makes it very important to choose the right doctor who actually cares about your health rather than trying to rush you back to work before you’re medically ready.

At the Espinoza Law Group, we talk to our clients about their symptoms and communicate with the treating doctor to ensure that work status orders are correct and are made in the best interest of our clients.
